iiiahh’s collections are inspired by various forms of idle entertainment (watching dogs run, folding paper aimlessly), but also by complex histories and personal narratives. Each collection begins with a core protagonist, however any one inventory may borrow from another.
For instance, novelist – builder – art critic – politician William Thomas Beckford (1760-1844) was the impetus for one of iiiahh’s first projects, a collage of his estate at Fonthill Abbey. However, his crumbling castle is later reimagined in a puzzle that can be shaped into towers.
